Christmas Toys replaced by Apple Gadgets

Gone are the days when childrens storage boxes and toy chests were packed with teddy bears and ragdolls; trends show that a growing number of kids prefer sophisticated gadgets to the cuddly playthings of the past. In October and November, retailers started reporting that high-tech Christmas toys were topping kids’ wish lists; these included robotic Zhu Zhu Pets and Jet Pack Buzz Lightyear action figures, and even video cameras and electric guitars built for kids. Now, as the festive season gets fully underway, statistics show that Apple iPhones and iPods have replaced traditional kids Christmas toys and games.

The iPhone 4 is officially the most wanted Christmas “toy” of 2010, closely followed by the iPod Touch and the iPad. Other popular high-tech toys on the top of kids’ Christmas wish lists are the Kinect for Xbox and the PlayStation Move. This trend can only be expected as today’s digital age means children are exposed to technology at a much younger age than their parents and grandparents.

These trousers don’t even have to look geeky to get their technological message across. The creators of these trousers are bike-riding folks who needed long lasting, good looking trousers that withstood all of the usual weather-bearing elements. The most important factor to incorporate was a quick-drying aspect and the good folks at Outlier have gotten this down to a tee.
